On November 11, 2025 the annual Veteran's Day Program was held at Hi-Plains School. This year's honored guests were Zach Zerull, Steve Miller, Dennis Hickman, Rob Coles, Corina Rusk, Loyd Hoskins, Paul Dowding, and Darrin Newberry.
Mr. Sircy and his students Addison Henschel, Alexis Harvie, and LeAnn Tanner did an outstanding job honoring our local veterans as well as veterans we've lost and current service members. Mr. Sircy led the program with Addison giving the invocation and Alexis providing the history of Veteran's Day.

The Hi-Plains JH & HS Band also honored the Veteran's by playing an awesome rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

On March 28, 2025 the Seibert Community lost Hank Tagtmeyer, a proud veteran and upstanding member of the community. Mr. Tagtmeyer was the last World War II veteran in Kit Carson County. He was remembered by his great-grandchildren Shelley Church, Jacey Church, Ainsley Einspahr, Otto Einspahr, and Crue Einspahr as a proud veteran and loving grandfather.

After the program, our distinguished guests were thanked by the students, staff and community for their brave service to our country. Many students gave hand drawn pictures to the veterans. They were then invited to our cafeteria for lunch.

Thank you to all veterans past and present that bravely served our country. You are true heroes!
