A Lasting Tribute to Hi-Plains Patriots: Homecoming Mural Dedication
This year’s Homecoming Week was extra special as Hi-Plains School celebrated the addition of two beautiful murals in the HP Gym, designed and painted by local artist Audrey Sayles of Some Girls and a Mural.
On Thursday, September 17, the school community gathered to dedicate an incredible mural featuring a mighty Patriot in honor of two cherished Hi-Plains alumni: Dick McCauley, Class of 1963, and Brenda Turner Christensen, Class of 1991.
The dedication ceremony celebrated the lasting impact of both alumni and their passion and dedication to the Hi-Plains Patriots and the Seibert community. Steve Miller shared remarks honoring the legacy of Dick McCauley, while Kerry Sue Sayles spoke about Brenda Turner and her contributions to the school and community.
Family members of both honorees attended the ceremony, including Curt, Michelle, and Tyler McCauley, as well as Charlie Turner. Their presence made the occasion even more meaningful as the Hi-Plains community came together to celebrate the lives, legacies, and lasting connections of two valued Patriots.
In recognition of the dedication, plaques were presented to the families of Mr. McCauley and Ms. Turner, along with mural artist Audrey Sayles. The plaques and mural serve as a lasting tribute to the individuals who have helped shape the Hi-Plains community and whose Patriot spirit continues to inspire future generations.
We are grateful to everyone who helped make this special dedication possible and proud to honor the legacy of two outstanding Hi-Plains Patriots.
