Hi-Plains secondary students had the amazing experience of attending The Outsiders musical at the Buell Theatre in Denver on September 23rd. It was a full-circle moment for these students, as they had all read the book with Mrs. Church in 7th grade and were now able to watch the musical adaptation of this wonderful story.

Maggie Gorton exclaimed, “It was so cool to see how the effects brought the story we all read to life! The actors were able to bring the fight scene into a whole different light that left everyone astonished! The live vocals made the scenes from the story so much more meaningful and brought new life to them.”

Hi-Plains students would like to thank everyone who made this experience possible by supporting their opportunity to attend the production through participation in the Silent Basket Auction, donations, or contributions in any way. Your generosity gave our students the opportunity to experience a story they have known for years in an entirely new way.
